Hey man,

Nice to see you put something into the contest! Mellow and reflective, I like it! Can definitely hear you going for the romantic style and the your contemporary passage fits nicely within the composition. Well done!

I know that this is probably just finale thing but when your moving between passages there are just drops of volume where either reverb or a decrescendo would make those transitoins smoother (like at :32, and 2:12). Also, I think in general I would've loved to see you put more dynamics in this piece. To me it feels a little bit programmed rather than played.

I'd be interested in hearing your other idea if you don't mind sharing.

The holds are programmed in with fermatas and pauses- it's something I wanted to add to give it a bit more rubato of a feel. I see where you are coming from, they make the romantic phases rather uninteresting.

The lack of excess reverb was mostly me being cheap trying to just use a blanket reverb on the whole piece and save CPU.

Dynamics in Finale is a beast to conquer when using EWQL- the Human Playback is designed to work only with garritan, MIDI, and softsynth sounds, all other banks require a lot of work to get realistic playback. I was actually amazed by the amount of dynamics I was able to get out of this track compared to most. XD

I'll be putting up the WIP in a few days when I finish it.
